Surface to Soul has developed a proven training model that's unique in four ways:
- We invite students to reinvent their own lives as they discover ways to spark transformation in other people's lives.
- Our training is "hands on" and experiential. We believe that information plus application leads to transformation. Therefore, the majority of our live training session include time for practice the skills we introduce in each session.
- We provide an online learning community to engage with during and beyond your coach training experience. In addition, our student have the opportunity to receive free training and earn free Coaching Continuing Education Units that are needed for renewing your ICF-certification.
- You will always have access to the most current training manuals and resources. We update training content twice a year and notify our students about updated resources.

ACC-LEVEL COACHING SCHOOL (100 Series Training)


ACC coaches demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the ICF Core Competencies of coaching, the ICF Code of Ethics and the definition of coaching. The ACC is designed to include coaches early in their coaching career and professionals who understand the value of integrating a coaching approach into their practice.
The ACC demonstrates that the earner has the knowledge, skills and understanding of core coaching principles that serve as the foundation for coaching practice. ACC coaches are required to demonstrate their continued professional development to maintain their ACC status. Surface to Soul offers ACC-level training twice a year.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for the ACC Credential must have at least 100 hours of coaching experience following the start of their coach-specific education.Coaches must complete an attestation of this experience as part of the application. For this purpose, ICF defines the start of coach-specific education as any course with at least 30 hours of which at least 24 hours are in ICF Core Competencies instruction. Eligible courses can be ICF-accredited or non –ICF-accredited. Please note that all non-accredited programs and CCE-accredited courses are subject to review by ICF as part of the portfolio application path.
The experience hours must have been with at least eight clients, and 25 of the hours must have occurred within the 18 months prior to submitting the credential application. Of the 100 or more coaching experience hours, at least 75 of the hours must be paid. Visit ICF's Coaching Experience page for more details on experience requirements, including all acceptable coaching experiences and how to document them. You will also find the ICF Coaching Log Template at the bottom of ICF's Experience requirement page.

Professional Certified Coach (PCC) Credential is for the experienced coach looking to evidence their proficiency in coaching skills, knowledge, and competence. Coaches who have earned the Professional Certified Coach credential have achieved proficiency in their knowledge of and ability to apply the ICF Core Competencies and the ICF Code of Ethics as a coaching professional.
The PCC distinguishes coaches with the verified skills required for effective coaching practice and substantial experience partnering with clients. ICF defines mentor coaching as a collaborative process where coaches receive feedback based on observed sessions to refine their skills and style in alignment with ICF Core Competencies. Mentor coaching is not only a requirement for ICF credentialing but also serves as a critical element of a coach’s education. It helps coaches enhance their competence and capabilities, align with professional standards, and develop their unique coaching style. Our mentor coaches will:

COACHING CONTINUING EDUCATION (400 Series Training)

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines Continuing Coaching Education (CCE) as professional development training intended to deepen a coach’s knowledge, build new skills, and enhance their overall coaching effectiveness beyond their initial certification. CCE is part of ICF’s ongoing commitment to uphold high professional standards in coaching by ensuring that credentialed coaches remain current, reflective, and continually growing in their practice.
CCE programs can take many forms—live workshops, virtual classes, webinars, self-paced learning, or mentor coaching—and they are typically offered by ICF-approved providers or by organizations that meet ICF’s content standards. They may cover Core Competencies (skills, knowledge, and behaviors required for effective coaching) or Resource Development (topics that contribute to a coach’s professional growth, such as business building, ethics, or leadership).

ICF requires credentialed coaches to renew their credential every three years, and part of that renewal process involves completing a specified number of CCE hours:
