- Inviting people into ministry is spiritual work.
- Learning about people's backgrounds, hopes, and gifts builds community.
- Provide opportunities to help people discover, develop & deploy their gifts.
- Focus on fulfilling callings rather than filling slots. Avoid sending mixed messages.
- Expand the number of people who interview & extend invitations.
- Make inviting people into ministry part of every paid person's job description.
- Make "connect, grow, give, and serve" part of what it means to be a ministry partner.
TIP 2 | CREATE JOB DESCRIPTIONS & ONBOARDING SYSTEMS
- Provide people you invite into ministry with a Job descriptions.
- Decide where job descriptions will be stored and how people can access them.
- Keep job descriptions simple (purpose, term, primary responsibilities, liaison).
- Ask current ministry partners whom they might partner with.
TIP 3 | INVITE PEOPLE INTO MINISTRY YEAR-ROUND
- Create a team of year-round inviters.
