Jim is a native of Minnesota who has served numerous Lutheran, Presbyterian and Methodists congregations in the Twin Cities area. He currently serves as the Director of Coaching and Training at Vibrant Faith Ministries and also oversees Vibrant Faith Ministries’ Youth & Family Ministry Certification Schools.  He has a Masters degree in Business Administration and is the author of Surface To Soul: Coaching Spiritual Vitality in Congregations.

Jim is married to Gina, who is teaches sixth grade language arts. They have two boys, Brett (15) and Kenton (10), who bring joy and delight to their lives. As a family, they enjoy playing Mexican Train, Bananagrams, Apples to Apples, cards and frisbee golf.

Jim is an avid reader and can be found reading or listening to books on faith formation, congregational vitality, leadership, and creativity. He’s currently learning how to create iMovies, is writing an ebook on Youth & Family Ministry and is exploring doctorate programs related to coaching. Items on his bucket list include, hiking the Lake Superior Trail, walking the Great Wall of China, having a boat on the St. Croix River and mastering online photo albums.
